John Spink was drowned in 1814, along with his two brothers and his wife's brother, Thomas Eaton.

In the 1841 census Jane Eaton was living with her son John, her daughter Elizabeth and Elizabeth's two children. Elizabeth's husband, David Beattie, was drowned in 1836.
